I just completed this course with 100%! Gives me encouragement. I am making progress. 🙂
In the end, all we have left are our stories and the people/characters in them.
Laura Ingalls Wilder didn’t start writing until her 70’s/80’s. I believe her books and the TV show were so popular because she wrote about a way of life that no longer existed. For those of us now middle aged, the way we grew up is different than how our kids were raised, especially with the pace of technology. Creativity and effort are the keys to writing about anything and making it fresh, interesting, and relatable. New to writing, take a class and/or join a group, just don’t put it off another day. Write now!
1984 by George Orwell
Liar’s Club by Mary Karr
Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison
Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
I am sure I need to add more. If you have read a great book that you feel others need to read, please add it in the comments. Thanks 🙂
Never underestimate the power of your local library! I am currently taking free classes online through my public library in writing, editing, proofreading, and a grammar refresher course. Not only are these classes insightful and convenient, they are making me a better writer and assisting me in my latest project.
Check out your local library online and see what resources they may have you.
